When is the Vesta 1.8 manual on sale? Real fuel consumption

Deliveries of Vesta sedans with a new 1.8 liter LADA engine (122 hp) have begun to LADA dealership centers.

The first car to go on sale was a car with a 1.8 liter engine and an automated manual transmission (AMT); The cost of such a LADA Vesta in the Comfort configuration is from 632 thousand rubles. The package includes two airbags, the ERA-GLONASS emergency warning system, exchange rate stability system (ESC), hill start assist (HSA), traction control system (TCS), which are present in the basic equipment of Vesta, as well as air conditioning and an audio system with Bluetooth and USB. Sales of LADA Vesta with a 1.8-liter engine and manual transmission will begin later.

The 1.8 liter engine is developed and produced at AVTOVAZ. This engine is equipped with a variable valve timing system. This and other design solutions provide increased power performance, reduced fuel consumption, improved vibroacoustic properties of the engine, and increased reliability. The maximum torque of the new engine is 170 Nm - this is the highest torque among competitors with naturally aspirated engines. The engine is quite torquey at low speeds and provides the car with a new level of dynamics: acceleration of a car with a manual transmission to 100 km/h in 10.2 seconds (with AMT - in 12.1 seconds), maximum speed - 188 km/h (with AMT - 186 km/h). At the same time, fuel consumption per 100 km in mixed mode is 7.4 liters for manual transmission and 7.2 liters for AMT. When mastering the new engine, new settings for the automated manual transmission (AMT) were created and the clutch design was redesigned for more comfortable starting and gear shifting.

LADA Vesta is a product of close cooperation between the Tolyatti and Izhevsk production sites of LADA. At the same time, 60% of added value is generated in Tolyatti. It is here that engines, gearboxes, chassis and formative elements of large body stampings are produced. To date, more than 50 thousand LADA Vesta cars have been manufactured.

Let us remind you that the LADA engine is 1.8 liters. is the latest development of the car plant and has been produced since 2015. The first car to receive the new engine was the LADA XRAY crossover. In addition to the 1.8-liter engine, LADA XRAY and LADA Vesta are equipped with a 1.6-liter LADA engine (106 hp).

Additional Information:
The AVTOVAZ Group is part of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance and produces full-cycle vehicles and auto components for 4 brands: LADA, Renault, Nissan, Datsun. The Group's production facilities are located in Togliatti - JSC AVTOVAZ and in Izhevsk - LLC LADA Izhevsk.
The LADA brand is represented in the B, B+, SUV and LCV segments, which make up 5 model families: Vesta, XRAY, Largus, Granta and 4x4. The brand occupies 20% of the Russian passenger car market. The official dealer network of the Brand is the largest in Russia - about 300 dealer centers.

Even 3 years ago, rumors began to spread across the Internet about the development of a new 1.8 liter engine at AvtoVAZ. The motor was intended for some new product that was kept secret. Now we already know that this development is the 1.8 Lada Vesta Cross engine. Before this, there had already been attempts to develop a 1.8 engine, which was later successfully assembled by Lada’s subsidiary Super-Auto. This engine had the index 21128 and was even installed on the Lada Priora Sport for some time. But as time has shown, the motor turned out to be unreliable and had a short resource. After which AvtoVAZ gathered its strength again and released a new 1.8 Lada Vesta SV Cross engine, in which all the shortcomings of the 21128 engine were eliminated.

The average engine life is 200,000 km.

Engine 21179 was first installed on the new LADA Vesta sedans, which went on sale only at the end of 2016. A year has passed, during which the most common malfunctions of this power unit were identified. Among them:

— Knock of hydraulic compensators. This is a fairly common problem with all 16-valve AvtoVAZ engines. This problem mainly occurs due to insufficient oil in the engine or due to the use of the wrong engine oil. In the worst case, you will have to change non-working hydraulic compensators. I agree that it is not very pleasant, but the procedure is not very expensive and is quite affordable for the average Vesta buyer.

— Increased engine oil consumption. And this is also a common problem with 16-valve VAZ engines. In the vast majority of cases, the only solution is to replace the connecting rod and piston group with a new one. If the car is under warranty, then the dealership will perform this procedure free of charge. If not, you will have to spend money on a replacement.

Otherwise, the 1.8 engine of the Lada Vesta Cross SV showed itself only on the good side. With proper maintenance, such an engine covers 150-200 thousand km without problems. Yes, and it has a resource, like conventional mechanics.

What kind of engine oil should I fill in the 1.8 Lada Vesta Cross SV 2017 engine?

In order to answer the question “What kind of oil to pour into the 1.8 engine of the Lada Vesta Cross 2017”, you need to understand under what conditions the car will be operated. First, let's define viscosity. In this case, AvtoVAZ recommends using the following SAE viscosities:

  • 5W-30
  • 5W-40
  • 10W-40
  • 15W-40

But not all viscosities are equally suitable. For example, if the machine is used in cold regions, then it is better to use thinner oils such as 5W-30 or 5W-40. Even 0W-40 oils can be used in new engines with low mileage.

If the car is used only in the warm season or in hot regions, then 10W-40 or even 15W-40 oils are perfect.

Now let's decide on the quality class. The manufacturer recommends using oils with an API quality class of at least SM and an ILSAC quality class of at least GF-4.

Does the 1.8 Lada Vesta Cross engine bend valves when the timing belt breaks?

The answer is yes! The 1.8 Lada Vesta Cross SV engine with index 21179 bends the valve when the timing belt breaks. This is a characteristic feature of any modern engine. The thing is that modern cars are trying to squeeze out maximum power without increasing engine size. This is done by lightening the connecting rod and piston group, as well as increasing the compression ratio. In this case, it is impossible to make grooves in the pistons so that if the timing belt breaks, they do not meet the valves. Therefore, if the pump, tension roller jams, or simply breaks the belt, a major engine overhaul is inevitable.

Many people are probably wondering what parts were used to assemble the 21179 motor. Now we’ll talk about this.

1. Timing belt - Continental. Manufacturers claim that the belt life is about 180 thousand km. I doubt that this is real, but these are the stated figures. Read it yourself here.
2. Injectors - Continental. These injectors have a longer service life than the Priora and also have increased productivity.
3. Valves - Mahle.
4. Pump - GMB. The resource is the same as that of the timing belt - 180 thousand km.
5. Oil pump - GMB. Has improved performance.
6. Camshafts - Toyota Tsusho. The decision to use these RVs was due to the fact that the old cast iron RVs were heavier than Toyota ones.
7. INA phase adjustment mechanism.

Features of the 1.8 engine Lada Vesta SV Cross 2017

Externally, the 21179 engine is very similar to other 16-valve VAZ and . But it was possible to achieve a volume of 1.8 liters not thanks to an increase in the diameter of the cylinders, but to an increase in the piston stroke in a standard cylinder. To do this, it was necessary to rework the entire connecting rod and piston group, and also install a new crankshaft.

In addition, 21179 is the first VAZ engine to use variable valve timing.

The 1.8 Vesta engine also differs from previous versions in that it has completely redesigned oil and cooling channels.

Due to the increase in engine volume, it was necessary to install new injectors with higher performance, an enlarged throttle valve, and also increase the volume of oil in the engine. The oil pan now holds 4.4 liters of engine oil, and a more efficient oil pump is located under the crankcase. The intake ports are also larger than before.

Another characteristic feature of the 21179 engine was the abandonment of the classic model of using a mass air flow sensor. Now readings are taken using an absolute pressure sensor and an air temperature sensor.

The graph clearly shows that the developers did a very good job tuning the 21179 engine. Already at 4 thousand rpm, the 179 engine produces a maximum torque of 170 Nm, and at 5.5 thousand rpm it produces a maximum power of 122 hp. With.

Video of engine assembly 1.8 Lada Vesta Cross

Good afternoon. I decided to write a review about my car, I hope it will help someone make a choice and answer any questions they may have. Driving experience - 24 years. The experience is enormous on different cars.

I will compare with two cars: Kia Sid SV 122 hp. automatic 2011, he is the second in the family and Lada Priora 1.6, instead of which I took the Cross.

So, I purchased it from an official dealer, Luxury multimedia equipment, 1.8 manual. The interior is orange. I took, as they say, what I had. At first I thought it was crazy, the car was white and the interior was orange. I came with my family and had a look. No, really nothing. Bought.

Impression

The machine has been in operation since November 28, 2017. Initial fuel consumption is 13-15 liters. Warming up, city, traffic jams, consumers at maximum. Priora under the same conditions 10 l. Sid 12-13 l.

The dynamics and failures were depressing. There are no vibrations on the steering wheel or on the gearshift lever, and no vibrations are transmitted to the body. Up to 700 kilometers the engine, exhaust system, and air conditioning system burned out. After 700 km the smell went away.

I tried to drive smoothly and didn’t raise the rpm above 3,000 either. As you run in, you can feel how the new JR5 gearbox is getting used to, and the dynamics and traction from the bottom are improving. More or less normal dynamics began only after 1,600 km. 1.8 on the handle goes! Who needs a car, flash their brains, and everything will be ok.

I liked the work of the air conditioning system, at -20 it’s warm in the cabin, the windows are clean (winter hasn’t offered anything else yet). Special thanks for the air ducts in the legs. With my size 42, I don’t cling to them. But both feet heat up equally. I was especially pleased with the heated windshield. I forgot how to scrape the windshield. I just turned it on, a minute later I waved the brushes and that’s it - the glass was clean, the ice fell off.

There are no crickets in the cabin yet. Yes, the plastic is harder than on the Kia, but it’s not repulsive. But the interior opposite Sid looks much more interesting. The seating position is comfortable. With my height of 172 cm, there are no dead spots on the instrument panel, although the seat is raised as high as possible. I customized the multimedia to suit myself; in addition to day/night brightness, there is manual brightness adjustment in each position. Doesn't shine in the eyes.

Yes, there are some blurs, say, in navigation, but the position relative to the map shows quite clearly, but this is already for the Glonass satellite. I especially wanted to mention the rear view camera. When leaving a parking space, when you can’t see anything at all from behind a parked car, the camera sees the entire road - great. On the same Side - trouble. There is one rear light. If on one side you can still see a little at night, then what is happening on the other side...

I storm snow parapets with ease, parking in front of almost any curb is no problem. Under the lip of the bumper there are 300 mm, more precisely 295. On Sid, such a trick can end in failure. Priora is taller, but not like SW Cross.

There is noise in the car, and it’s not bad. Compared to Sid, even though he’s a higher class, he’s a pass. The dealer supplied winter tires 215/50/17. When turning closer to the extreme position, the edge of the tread slightly touches the noise protection in the arch, but not critically. Keep this in mind when selecting tires.

I like the suspension too. Rails with paving stones go with a bang. The suspension is down, but not stiffer than on Sid. The suspension travel is large, there is no talk of breakdowns or landing on the bump stops even with a full load (4 healthy men and a full trunk - we went fishing). Handles the road well. I love active taxiing. I also like the rack settings.

The ESP settings are excellent (my wife tried it on a snowy track and really liked it). I specifically recorded the highway consumption and reset all the data on the on-board computer. 7.7 liters. Full load, speed 100 km/h. The revolutions are about 3,000, because it is running in.

As a result, the average consumption for 350 km, taking into account the approach to the lake along the field in 1-2 gears, a half-hour warm-up at -19 on the shore and 5 stops on the way back (for a cognac break, after drinking a liter of vodka at the lake, for a new car), consumption was 8.4 liters. As a result of the trip, the men came to a unanimous conclusion - the device is worthy (and they drive, one in a Camry, the second in a Honda CR-V, the third in a Tiguan).

There are, of course, disadvantages. It’s inconvenient to fasten the seat belts, but I’m already used to it. Make the locks a little higher and everything will be fine. There is a heated windshield, but there is no heating of the windshield wiper rest zone. The brushes themselves become covered with ice very quickly. Apparently, you will have to buy winter silicone ones. On the Priora, I simply moved them a couple of teeth to the top, and that’s it. It won't work here. The distance from the brush, in the extreme position, to the stand is small.

The driver's mat, or rather its fastening. Two healthy plastic plugs, which I secured with some effort, after I noticed that they were not secured and when tilted or rolled over, water stupidly overflowed into the holes onto the main carpet. Now I use moisture-absorbing mats. Apparently, at the car wash you will have to remove and put them on yourself so as not to get lost. Maybe they're just new. We'll see.

The doors have weak latches, I just hold the door so that it does not open all the way. Although I like this more than the terrible effort with which you need to remove the door from fixation, say, from the same Captur.

It’s better that I hold it in the right position myself, than for it to still jump out into the locking position and hit the parked car next to me. By the way, that’s why I made ceramics pro. Preserves paint from scratches. It really works. Water, snow and dirt roll off. Easier to clean. Shines better.

The gear ratios of the box are also, in my opinion, strange. They say it's from Duster. I immediately remember the experience of operating a Citroen Jumper. There is also the first one - move off with a load, a short second and immediately 3. Pedal to the floor, and off we go. It's about the same here.

Engine sounds after 3,000 thousand can be heard in the cabin. Up to this limit everything is normal. Above you can even hear the engine. The noise between the cabin and the engine compartment needs to be increased. But, by and large, these are small things.

Today I have driven 1,825 km. Consumption in the city dropped to 11.2 liters. The car is running in, the dynamics are improving. I'm happy with the car. I go and have fun. Although I share the opinion of one of the reviewers (judging by the reviews of the owners), each Cross drives differently. Yes, a big question for AvtoVAZ!

I think the car is worth the money. The 1.8 engine has a longer lifespan. On a Priora, the timing belt changes, on average, every 50-60 thousand kilometers. Here it’s 180 thousand. And according to the book, I don’t see 0, it’s 15,000 right away. Overall, the car turned out to be very good. Comfortable, with a well-thought-out trunk, high ground clearance and beautiful appearance.

Many of the problems that were present on the Vesta sedan over the 1.5 years of production have already been corrected. New engine from Renault Nissan with 150 hp. have already been announced. Our auto industry is moving in the right direction, which cannot but rejoice. I've been riding around Yekaterinburg for a month and haven't come across Crosses yet.

The car attracts attention, men come up, look, are interested, and ask. I’ll change the oil at 2,000 with a filter, but I’ll still drive a thousand in easy mode, no higher than 3,500 rpm. I probably won't go to the dealer. I can change the oil along the way, but I haven’t found any problems to fix yet.

Bottom line

I will give the new Lada Vesta SW Cross a solid 4 plus out of 5. This review is my personal opinion, I do not pretend to be an expert assessment. Please be understanding. As they say, to have it or not to have it, decide for yourself. I will update the review as I use it.

Video of measuring motor power 21179

Regarding measuring engine power on a stand, you need to understand the following things:

  • The stands differ from each other both mechanically and programmatically, therefore they have different errors that affect the results. Most often, measurements at stands show slightly inflated numbers in order to “satisfy” the needs of customers for individual online settings.
  • Private stands differ from the factory VAZ
  • The characteristics of the engine are influenced by such little things as: air temperature, tire pressure, oil viscosity, friction of parts. An example is this video, where as the oil dilutes, the engine power increases each time.

Results of measurements: the engine really shows the characteristics declared by the manufacturer of 122 hp. and 170 N.m

Engine life— 200 thousand km. (the standard life of a car, after which you can drive the entire 400 thousand km.)

Power characteristics chart

Already from 2000 rpm, the engine produces almost maximum torque of 126.127, 21179, and this is good traction, which gives a feeling of riding comfort.

Real fuel consumption

According to AvtoVAZ:
Fuel consumption varies depending on vehicle and transmission. But we immediately note that in some operating modes the 21179 engine turned out to be much more economical than all 1.6 liter engines.

Real fuel consumption: After talking with car owners, it becomes clear that fuel consumption is not quite as economical as the factory tells us:

Vesta sedan + robot

  • mixed consumption - 7.3 l per 100 km
  • city - 9.3 l
  • track - 6 l

(with a loaded weight of 1230-1380 kg depending on the configuration)

Vesta sedan cross + manual transmission

  • city - 9.9l
  • highway - 6.4 l

Vesta sedan cross + robot

  • city - 9.6l
  • highway - 6.2 l

Vesta SW + robot

  • mixed consumption - 7.6 l per 100 km
  • city - 9.9l
  • highway - 6.2 l

Vesta SW Cross + robot amt

  • mixed consumption - 7.7 l per 100 km
  • city - 10.1 l
  • highway - 6.3 l

Vesta SW Cross + manual transmission

  • mixed consumption - 7.9 l per 100 km
  • city - 10.7 l
  • highway - 6.4 l

Xray + manual transmission

  • mixed consumption - 7.2 l per 100 km
  • city - 9.7 l
  • highway - 6.1 l

Xray + robot

  • mixed consumption - 6.8 l per 100 km
  • city - 9.0 l
  • track - 6 l

Xray Cross + mechanics

  • mixed consumption - 7.5 l per 100 km
  • city - 9.7 l
  • highway - 6.3 l

Based on the power characteristics, it becomes clear why Vesta 1.8 has a decent amount of fuel. The reason for this is high torque at low speeds. The power unit has high efficiency, “Locomotive traction” starts almost from 1500 rpm.

Disadvantages of engine 21179

The first 1.8 21179 engines rolled off the assembly line in 2016. Already after 3 years of use, the disadvantages of the “volumetric” motor are known.

The main drawback, according to the owners based on reviews, is the low engine life. What is the reason for this?

  • To supply the phase shifter with engine oil, manufacturers drilled additional channels in the cylinder block, thereby calling into question the possibility of boring blocks to unprecedented repair sizes. For comparison, motorsports drivers bore “prioro” blocks 21126 from 82 mm to 84 mm, while civilian engines bore them to 83 mm. Having bored the engine block to dimensions of 83 mm per cylinder, the likelihood of opening the oil channel becomes high.
  • Increased load on the crankshaft journal. Compared to the 21126 or 21129 engine, the crankshaft journal was reduced in diameter. Due to the higher piston stroke than on 1.6 engines, we get additional load on the crankshaft.
  • The inserts are a calculation error by the engineers. significantly reduce the resource of the internal combustion engine.
  • More complex engine maintenance. To change the timing belt, you need special tools, removing the valve cover, etc.

AvtoVAZ has set a goal for independent servicing from an official dealer. Now Lada is far from being a car that you can repair yourself in a garage.

  • Zhor oil— The connecting rod and piston group from the factory may not be installed in the correct size. (A frequent problem at AvtoVAZ, I encountered it personally). The way out of this situation is to replace the pistons under warranty (the manufacturer assures that the oil consumption will drop as the engine runs in).
  • Another nuance is the use of solid oil scraper rings. The use of these rings under load leads to oil consumption. In other matters, like any 16kL VAZ engine, due to the use of these oil scraper rings, oil is consumed at high speeds.
  • Knock of hydraulic compensators— oil starvation, check the oil level
  • The cut-off is 6200 rpm - a little not enough for a comfortable volume; you have to switch at the moment the car is immediately ahead of you

Advantage of internal combustion engine 21179

  • power/torque
  • more efficient pump and oil pump

Engine oil

  • 5W-30
    5W-40
    10W-40
    15W40

Standard oils for VAZ engines. The replacement period is at least once every 10 thousand km. (advice for the benefit of the engine). When asked which oil is best to fill, there are endless battles, tests and correspondence on forums. People evaluate carbon deposits and other parameters that are incomprehensible to “distant” car enthusiasts. The author adheres to his opinion on this matter: it doesn’t matter what kind of oil, the main thing is that it is original from the factory, and not spilled from a barrel in a neighboring garage. Believe me, in practice, finding original oil is not so easy.

Engine Features

In appearance, the 179 engine is similar to all sixteen-valve VAZ engines. Unlike the first 1.8 small-scale engines 21128 and folk craftsmen, AvtoVAZ decided to achieve an increase in volume not by boring the cylinder block, but by using the stroke length of the piston itself on the same cylinder block. To do this, we had to develop an original crankshaft with an enlarged crank and make oil channels for the phase regulator, additional channels for the cooling system. Due to the increased cylinder volume, a larger diameter E-gas block throttle valve was installed and the intake ports were enlarged compared to 1.6 liter engines. up to 39mm. Also, the main feature of the 21179 engine is the variable valve timing.

  • The piston stroke increased from to 84mm.
  • crankshaft connecting rod journals decreased
  • ShPG Federal Mogul – East. Among the features - the piston skirt is modified to increase contact and has a graphite coating.
  • Oil scraper rings are chrome plated
  • Compression height - 26.7mm
  • Valves - mahle
  • the “head” has additional oil channels
  • High Performance Oil Pump - GMB
  • The oil sump volume is 4.4 liters with an aluminum pan.
  • Pump - GMB
  • The developers abandoned the installation of the mass air flow sensor in favor of the DBP (pressure sensor) and DTV (air temperature sensor)
  • Camshafts - Toyota Tsusho. Much lighter than the old cast iron ones.
  • INA phase adjustment mechanism. (For the first time, a motor with variable valve timing is installed on the vase)
  • The timing belt, as well as the injectors, are Continental.

The injectors have greater performance compared to the prioromotor. The timing belt resource is 180 thousand km. In other matters, the Priora claimed approximately the same service life, but will the rollers and the pump last that long: you all know, dear readers, how it all ended. By the way, the videos are also from the German company INA.

Does valve 21179 bend on a 1.8L engine?

Car owners often ask this question. The answer is YES, the 1.8L engine bends the valves, just like absolutely all modern cars.

With the exception of motor 21129. Since the end of 2018, the ICE 21129 has stopped bending valves when the timing belt breaks, due to the use of pistons with recesses.

Due to the lighter piston and increased compression ratio in order to squeeze out the maximum power of the car during civilian use, with a wedge of a roller or pump, and as a result of a broken timing belt, major repairs are inevitable on absolutely any modern car.

Who is the 1.8 engine intended for?

The stock ICE 21179 does not have high speed and dynamic characteristics; it will not go far from a 1.6 engine. But a huge mountain of torque almost from idle gives some advantages:

  • Drive on the highway and around the city with overload
  • Comfortable travel with full interior

The 1.8 engine is more suitable for the sw b sw cross station wagon

History of origin

Motor 21179 was already in the minds of the engineer much earlier than you can imagine. Even at the end of the USSR, developers began to think about the Lada C project and its power units. Even then, engineers “knew” this motor by its features and power characteristics. But the difficult economic situation of that time and the collapse of the USSR forced the engineers to completely forget the Lada-Ts project.

And now, after a long time, when Boo Anderson comes to the post of general manager of AvtoVAZ, the project is raised and developed again.

The main task was to create an engine with good low-end torque, which AvtoVAZ lacked for a confident, comfortable ride. “Tractor” 8-cl engines have long since become obsolete, but the new 16-cl engines had a more “sporty” character. The situation was corrected by the then 21127 engine, now 21129, which is installed on Vesta, Xray, and other AvtoVAZ models. Due to the intake receiver with variable geometry installed on it, the torque from the bottom began much earlier, unlike the Prioromotor (21126), and its shelf was much further, right up to the cutoff. But with the start of production of a sedan with a larger mass - the Vesta, and the Xray hatchback - the need for low-end engines reappeared.

The engine was run in and tested for a long time. As a result, during the testing process it turned out that the rings were already stuck at 4t.km., as a result, the heat zone was increased and the problem disappeared.

Technological progress does not stand still. And to be successful, you need to keep up with the times. Every year AvtoVAZ improves its design and modernizes its developments. The crowning achievement of the concern’s developers’ work was the Lada Vesta 1.8, a sedan already loved by Russians with a new engine.

Initially, the Lada Vesta car was equipped with a 106-horsepower 1.6 engine. For a class B car, such a power unit is quite enough. But there is no limit to perfection. A year later, in the fall of 2016, AvtoVAZ began installing another unit on the sedan, created by the concern’s developers. The video test drive of the Lada Vesta 1.8 attracted the attention of many fans of Togliatti cars and acted as an excellent advertisement for the updated version of the sedan.

The history of the creation of a new engine

The new engine was assembled on the basis of the already known in-line engines of smaller volume 21126, 21127 and 21129. By increasing the piston stroke, but leaving the diameter and height of the four cylinders unchanged, it was possible to add 0.2 liters to the working volume. In addition, AvtoVAZ designers lightened the connecting rod and piston mechanism and used new valves and a crankshaft.

The fuel and exhaust systems were not left without attention. To effectively remove gases, the engine was equipped with a manifold with holes of larger diameter. The injectors received a different type of spray. The timing belt was installed from Continental with a long working life. The belt has its own peculiarity - highly reliable rollers are manufactured by the German company INA.

On a note!

The cooling system used an increased number of channels in the cylinder block. Water and oil pumps from a Korean company operate with greater productivity.

Main characteristics and parameters

The Lada Vesta with a 1.8 engine paired with a robotic gearbox has already earned the trust of car enthusiasts. Its stated technical characteristics are quite decent:

  • power – 122/90 horsepower/kW at 5800 rpm;
  • acceleration to 100 km/h in 12.1 s;
  • the maximum attainable speed of the car is 186 km/h;
  • urban gasoline consumption per 100 km – 9.3 liters;
  • suburban fuel consumption - 6.1 liters per 100 km;
  • the average value of gasoline consumed is 7.3 liters.

Not every budget car can boast of such indicators.

The characteristics of the Lada Vesta car with a top-end engine declared by the manufacturer do not correspond to reality. I myself own such a car and I can say with confidence that acceleration is about 13 seconds, and consumption in mixed mode exceeds 8 liters. Reading reviews of Lada Vesta 122 l. With. 1.8 l, I noticed that many owners pay attention to the indicated inflated figures in reviews and articles.

Options and prices

To date, the Lada Vesta 1.8 manual car is not yet for sale. Dealership centers offer a similar version with a “robot” in the “Comfort” package. The cost of such a car will be 648 thousand rubles. More expensive configurations and prices of the Lada Vesta 1.8 l will cost the buyer 671 thousand with the additional “Image” option package and 735 thousand for the maximum Lux equipment with the Multimedia package.

I bought a Lada Vesta with a top-end engine, because I drive every day in busy traffic, where I need to constantly accelerate and be maneuverable. After six months of use, I'm a little disappointed with the robot box. For comparison, I bought the same car from a friend with a basic engine and a manual transmission; it seemed faster to me. I heard that they should soon start producing cars with a top-end engine and manual transmission. It's a shame we didn't think of this right away.

The future of AvtoVAZ cars

Throughout 2017, AvtoVAZ carried out debugging work on a new version of the tandem for the Lada Vesta: a manual transmission with a 122-horsepower unit. The description of its main indicators is impressive:

  • exchange of the first hundred kilometers in 10.3 s;
  • the maximum permissible speed will be 188 km/h;
  • average fuel consumption will not exceed 7.5 liters.

The latest news informs that this version will be put into production along with a new station wagon. And it will be immediately installed on sedans as well. The exact date for the start of sales of fast cars has not been set, but it is known that this will happen in the fall of this year.
