Casco calculator – calculate car insurance online. Casco: everything about insurance and more Casco cheaper

There are a huge number of offers for cheap CASCO insurance on the insurance market. These include special programs and promotions, various reduced coverages, etc. How to understand this variety of variations of cheap CASCO insurance and options that insurers offer their clients? Let's try to find out together what is the catch and the truth of economical CASCO and whether the purchased product will really meet your needs.

Reasons for cheap CASCO insurance

Cheap CASCO policy for a bank

When applying for a car loan, many banks require you to take out a CASCO policy and provide a copy of the policy and a receipt to the bank. This is especially true for borrowers in the second year of the loan and all subsequent years. This is understandable: any financial organization needs to be sure that the bank’s collateral property will be safe and sound, and that there will be a return of funds and interest, which constitute the bank’s profit. Insurance is a necessary measure for all types of collateral. This also applies to houses, apartments, warehouses, farms, factories, and all property that is purchased with loan funds. A car is a riskier type of lending. Every day, thousands of accidents occur around the world, cars crash and are completely destroyed. Hundreds of cars are also stolen every day. The statistics speak for themselves.
Previously, we wrote about what the conditions are for.

In these times of crisis, many banks make concessions and allow you to take out insurance with many benefits.

  1. CASCO with franchise
  2. CASCO in installments
  3. CASCO with aggregate sum insured
  4. CASCO for two risks: theft and total loss or CASCO with a large deductible of over 60,000 rubles.
  5. CASCO for a special program, CASCO 50/50 and many others.

All of the above allows you to cheaply buy CASCO insurance for the bank, and you can remain confident in the future. We have already told you a lot about economical CASCO insurance for banks in other articles. After all, if there is no insurance policy, are you ready to work for two to close the loan? And even be left completely without a car? This entails both transport and financial inconveniences. It is clear that you can cover small damage yourself, but what if there is a major accident? Insurance to the rescue. Think about it.

Which insurance companies (IC) offer the lowest CASCO rates? To instantly compare insurance prices, you can use the CASCO calculator. However, for a more detailed study of the car insurance market, a CASCO calculator alone is not enough. The fact is that when comparing prices from different insurers, many difficulties arise:

  • Heterogeneity of insurance products. Insurers offer a wide variety of insurance programs and CASCO tariffs. At the same time, they strive to make their offer as different as possible from the insurance products of their competitors.
  • Regional amendments. Insurance organizations often use extremely different regional ratios. Therefore, it may be more profitable to insure a specific car in one subject of the Russian Federation with companies “A” and “B”, while in another region the same companies will offer insurance products at high prices.
  • Specialization. Many companies often specialize in car insurance of a certain class. As a result, sometimes the cheapest way to insure a specific car is with the insurer with the highest average market rates.

Nevertheless, you can compare the average market CASCO insurance rates in different companies. To make this study extremely correct, voluntary insurance contracts for the 60 most popular car models in Russia (12 in each of the five price segments) were taken into account. Statistics from the leading twenty-five companies in the AUTOCASCO market under contracts concluded in St. Petersburg and Moscow for the twelve months of 2014 were used. Other study parameters:

  • CASCO for cars not older than three years;
  • Insurance without deductible;
  • Insurance for the risks of “damage” and “theft” without a large list of exclusions from insurance coverage;
  • No discounts.

Thus, the most favorable average market CASCO tariffs are offered by Soglasie, VSK and Rosgosstrakh companies. Policies at prices “above the market” are offered by RESO-Garantiya, AlfaStrakhovanie and Renaissance Insurance. At the same time, as statistics show, there is no direct relationship between CASCO prices and the popularity of the insurance company.

All three companies with the highest average rates are in the TOP 10 insurers by total insurance premium in both capitals.

Thus, RESO-Garantiya is the undisputed leader in the Northern capital and ranks third in terms of sales volumes in Moscow. This once again clearly confirms the thesis that for a domestic policyholder, the reputation of the insurance company is much more important than maximum savings when purchasing a policy.

Note. Ingosstrakh remains the absolute leader in the voluntary car insurance market both in the capital and throughout Russia. In addition, this insurer is located in the middle of the above rating. Thus, in order to quickly compare the cost of insuring a specific car in several insurance companies, you can take Ingosstrakh CASCO tariffs as the market average and compare it with offers from other companies. Of course, this approach is not very accurate, but it is quite suitable for quick analysis.

The most favorable CASCO insurance rates by car segments

Above are summarized statistics on CASCO tariffs in 2014. However, it is much more clear to consider the voluntary auto insurance market through the prism of various auto segments:

  1. For budget cars costing up to 500,000 rubles the best prices are offered by VSK, SOGAZ and ZHASO companies. At the same time, “protective” tariffs for cars in this segment were set by Zetta Insurance (formerly Zurich), AlfaStrakhovanie and RESO-Garantiya.
  2. It is profitable to insure a car at a cost from 500,000 to 1,000,000 rubles in St. Petersburg and Moscow it is possible in the companies “Rosgosstrakh”, “Ingosstrakh” and “VSK”. The least attractive average rates for cars in this segment are offered by UralSib, AlfaStrakhovanie and Renaissance Insurance.
  3. "Soglasie", "ZHASO" and "Liberty Insurance" offer favorable rates for business class cars costing from 1,000,000 to 1,500,000 rubles. In turn, Renaissance Insurance, RESO-Garantiya and UralSib undertake to insure such cars at prices above market prices.
  4. Vehicles cost from 1,500,000 to 2,000,000 rubles It is most profitable to insure with the companies Soglasie, Rosgosstrakh and VSK. Renaissance Insurance, AlfaStrakhovanie, ERGO Rus and Yugoria offer the highest rates for cars in this price category.
  5. Zetta Insurance (formerly Zurich) and Rosgosstrakh pamper owners of cars worth over 2,000,000 rubles. At the same time, RESO-Garantiya and UralSib have established the highest CASCO insurance rates for cars in this segment.

Remember that the difference between the maximum and minimum tariff for a particular car can reach 40-70%. Moreover, if you believe the statistics, the maximum price range is observed in the budget segment, as well as in the luxury car segment. Conversely, the minimum variation in tariffs is observed when insuring cars costing from 500,000 to 1,500,000 rubles.

Extremely competitive CASCO insurance rates are available for a variety of SUVs. This is due, first of all, to the resistance of such machines to minor damage in minor accidents. In addition, car owners willingly install the most modern (including satellite) anti-theft systems on luxury SUVs, which significantly reduces the risk of theft. True, there are exceptions, for example, insuring a Toyota Land Cruiser or Land Rover Range Rover is quite expensive due to the popularity of these models among car thieves.

Why are the lowest CASCO rates not always good?

Car owners dream of low CASCO rates in 2015, but it must be remembered that insurance at the most tempting prices often has significant flaws. At the same time, the main danger for the domestic insurer is unreliable insurers. Extremely profitable offers from dubious companies are a clear signal not to be led by emotions and not to chase maximum savings.

Remember that all Russian insurers, in fact, exist at the expense of the insurance premiums of their clients. Insurance companies use the money of policyholders to maintain a staff of employees, pay payments for insured events, etc. Now think about where an irresponsible insurer will find money if he sells policies below cost? For the time being, such a company will be able to pay its obligations, but it is only a matter of time before payments exceed fees. Therefore, in the domestic insurance market, a relatively expensive bird in the hand is better than a cheap swan in the sky, which most often flies somewhere to the south with the money of defrauded policyholders.

Extremely low rates from reliable companies

Recently, the largest insurers in Russia have also been actively introducing all kinds of cheap CASCO options. For example, the market leader, the Ingosstrakh company, offers its clients about twenty different voluntary car insurance programs. Of course, it is unlikely that you will be able to buy full CASCO insurance with a 50% discount. However, there are insurance options that have a large number of exclusions from coverage. Due to the worsening economic situation in 2014, there was a rapid increase in the popularity of such programs among Russian policyholders. Among the most significant are the following:

  • "CASCO against total and theft." In the classic version, a car is insured for only two risks: “total damage to the car” and “theft.” Many insurers offer such special programs as an alternative to CASCO insurance against theft.
  • CASCO only against theft. Recently, more and more insurers are offering such policies without including additional risks in the insurance coverage.
  • Beneficial insurance programs for cars from three to seven years. CASCO for a used car is usually inexpensive, but at the same time it implies the payment of compensation according to the calculation, taking into account the wear and tear of the car.
  • CASCO at half price. There are several insurance options in which the car owner pays half the cost of the policy. For example, a car is insured for only one risk at the policyholder’s choice, or the car owner must pay the second part of the premium in the event of an insured event.

Regional differences

It is worth remembering that insurers usually calculate unique CASCO insurance rates for each locality. Thus, in cities with a high frequency of thefts (for example, in Irkutsk), insurance companies use significantly higher coefficients for the risk of “theft.” Accordingly, it is much more difficult to buy CASCO profitably in such regions of the Russian Federation. In turn, the number of accidents in Belgorod is traditionally much lower than in other Russian cities. That is why insurance there is on average cheaper than in larger settlements. You can compare prices from insurance companies in any city in Russia using the CASCO calculator.

Insurers apply different rates depending on the region. At the same time, opinions differ regarding the cost of CASCO insurance in the capital and other localities of the Russian Federation.

Some argue that it is possible to insure a car in the largest Russian city cheaper than in the regions. The argument is extremely simple: in Moscow there is fierce competition between insurers, which forces them to compete for each client, including through low prices. Another point of view is diametrically opposite - CASCO in the regions will cost on average cheaper than in the capital.

Where is the truth? According to statistics from the Central Bank of Russia, CASCO insurance in the Russian capital is more expensive than in other regions. The difference in tariffs averages 15-20%, which is due to a number of factors:

  1. The traffic volume in Moscow is much higher than in other large Russian cities. As a result, the capital has a higher accident rate and, consequently, higher “damage” risk coefficients. Moreover, in small cities, where the number of accidents is extremely small, insurance organizations can sell policies at lower rates.
  2. In Moscow, the number of car thefts per thousand is higher than in most other regions of the Russian Federation. Taking into account these statistics, insurance companies use increasing coefficients for theft risk for the capital region.
  3. In Moscow, repairing and maintaining a car is on average more expensive than in other regions of the Russian Federation, because there is a huge number of all kinds of official dealers and service stations. In other cities and regions, the concentration of “officials” is much lower, so car repairs there are much more often trusted to unofficial companies, which, of course, reduces the cost of the insurance policy.
  4. In many regions, in addition to large all-Russian insurers, regional companies are represented. They are often able to provide quality service at the level of large companies, and sometimes even surpass the latter in this component. In addition, the most successful regional insurers (for example, Kompanion or Chulpan companies) are distinguished by exemplary financial stability and an excellent reputation in “their” constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Additionally, they have favorable agreements with local service stations, which allows them to sell CASCO insurance at extremely competitive rates.

In which regions is it more difficult to buy CASCO insurance at low rates?

Traditionally, it is difficult to insure any property in the North Caucasus Federal District (with the exception of the Stavropol Territory). Of course, voluntary car insurance is no exception. The total volume of insurance premiums in such regions as Chechnya, Dagestan, Karachay-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Ingushetia, North Ossetia-Alania does not even reach 200 million rubles per year. And this despite the fact that almost seven million people live on the territory of these republics. And in the Stavropol region, where only about two and a half million residents live, CASCO sales bring insurers about one and a half billion rubles a year.

It is known that many companies simply do not operate in problematic Russian regions. Moreover, the standard Russian CASCO policy, as a rule, does not even apply to the North Caucasus republics, which is easy to see by reading the insurance rules of any insurer. For the most part, in the Caucasus, only state-owned cars, as well as vehicles of “special” clients, are insured.

It is no less easy to find favorable CASCO rates in many sparsely populated northern regions of Russia, for example, in Chukotka and Kamchatka, as well as in the Magadan and Amur regions. The operating conditions for cars there are the most severe, and the cost of repairs is traditionally high, which is caused by the significant remoteness of these places.

In addition, do not forget about other important aspects of insurance (besides the actual favorable rates). In some regions, a policy can be purchased quite cheaply, but the benefits of such CASCO insurance sometimes turn out to be very dubious. In an attempt to reduce costs, insurers often locate their claims department as close as possible to the border of two or even three constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Thus, clients from several adjacent areas are served by one single payment center. As a result, the policyholder sometimes has to travel 300-400 kilometers from his locality just to get to the insurer’s loss settlement department.

It happens that the damaged car and its owner are located in one locality, the loss settlement department is in another, and the service station is in a third. At the same time, the policyholder each time has to travel hundreds of kilometers back and forth before his car is finally repaired. In order to avoid getting into such a situation, it is more advisable to agree to a slight increase in the CASCO tariff, but at the same time avoid serious problems in the event of an insured event.

Reading time: 5 minutes

Voluntary insurance has always been an expensive service. Today, in the context of the economic crisis, the cost of the policy continues to rise, which forces vehicle owners to reduce insurance costs as much as possible and look for cheap CASCO. To accommodate clients, insurance companies offer profitable insurance programs, various discounts and bonuses, allow payment of policies in installments and on credit, and practice issuing short-term contracts at a reduced cost.

How to apply for CASCO insurance

Since tariffs for voluntary CASCO insurance are formed by insurance companies independently, the car owner’s first priority is to find the insurer who will offer the most inexpensive CASCO insurance. After assessing the condition of the vehicle, the necessary documents are submitted to the insurance company and an insurance contract is signed, most often for a period of one year. After its expiration date, it can be extended.

The policy comes into force after it is paid by the policyholder. Today CASCO can be issued both at the office of the insurance company and online. The voluntary insurance procedure is covered in more detail in the publication "".

How to determine the cost of CASCO

You can simplify the calculation procedure with the help of ours, which will quickly and free of charge determine the real cost of the policy for a specific car and show the feasibility of taking out insurance.

How to reduce CASCO costs

The price of a CASCO policy is very high; it can exceed the cost of a compulsory motor vehicle license by 15 times or more. Therefore, most vehicle owners would like to know where the cheapest CASCO insurance is. Despite the high cost, this type of insurance is quite popular among the masses, since it covers the cost of repairing your own car, even if the policyholder caused an accident on the road.

Therefore, many car and motorcycle owners are still inclined to take out voluntary insurance, but would like to find a cheap CASCO policy. You can reduce its price if:

  • simultaneously apply for CASCO and MTPL in the same insurance company;
  • choose partial CASCO insurance – only against theft or damage;
  • include drivers over 30 years of age with extensive driving experience into the policy;
  • purchase CASCO with a franchise.

These and other legal possibilities for reducing the cost of a voluntary insurance policy are discussed in more detail in the review "".

Where can you get a profitable CASCO insurance?

There are quite a lot of insurance organizations operating in the field of auto insurance in Russia. In the fight for clients, they offer attractive insurance products and significant discounts, convenient online registration of contracts, and payment of insurance in installments. However, the price of policies from service providers may vary significantly.

When trying to buy CASCO insurance profitably, it is important to choose the insurer whose low rates are optimally combined with high reliability.

Annual lists of the most effective insurance companies compiled by rating agencies allow vehicle owners to compare their performance indicators and evaluate loyalty to customers. After analyzing the top five insurers proposed by experts, you will understand where it is cheaper to buy CASCO insurance in 2019.

Tinkoff Insurance

When taking out CASCO and MTPL insurance at the same time, clients can count on a 5% discount, and policies can be paid for in parts by making monthly payments. In case of insured events, compensation is paid within 3 working days. For those who want to buy CASCO insurance cheaply, IC Tinkoff Insurance is ideal.

"Renaissance Insurance"

A high-tech company offering its clients a telematics program. Installing a special device on the vehicle, connected to a smartphone through an application, makes it possible to adjust the driving style, makes it more careful and allows you to earn points necessary to reduce the deductible. For young drivers, this is the most profitable CASCO insurance, as it allows you to reduce the cost of the policy by half. In addition, the company uses low rates for used cars and SUVs.

"Alfa Insurance"

The “Smart CASCO” program developed by the company is aimed at careful drivers; it allows you to save up to 55% of the cost of the policy. Any owner of a foreign car that is no more than 7 years old can participate in this program and buy a CASCO policy inexpensively.

Ingosstrakh

Therefore, when choosing an insurer, you need to focus on such performance indicators as the quality of insurance services, reliability, and the number of regular customers.

Dependence of the CASCO policy price on the car model

Having a CASCO insurance policy is a necessary condition for obtaining a car loan, while rates for different brands of cars vary significantly. Many motorists strive to reduce their costs not only when choosing a car, but also when concluding an insurance contract. In order for the savings to be significant, they need to know which car is offered with the cheapest CASCO insurance.

Since tariffs in this type of insurance are formed as a percentage of the cost of the car plus coefficients, the dependence of the policy price on the make of the car is quite obvious.

When calculating the cost of damage insurance, the average cost of repairs is taken into account. Namely, the make, model and class of the car determine the availability and price of consumables and spare parts, the cost of restoring the car in the event of an accident, and the attractiveness of the car to thieves. Therefore, cheap CASCO insurance does not apply to expensive and popular foreign cars. The rates are always high, and insurance companies have lists of cars that are expensive to maintain and repair. Insurance for some of them can cost more than 100 thousand rubles.

Is it possible to get CASCO insurance for a month?

The conclusion of a voluntary insurance contract for a month is legally permitted. Most often, such a policy is purchased in the event of the upcoming sale of a car, the need to move it to another region, and also when the car is used rarely or seasonally. For 30-day insurance you will have to pay about 30% less than for an annual policy, but in the end the overpayment will be significant. It should also be taken into account that not all insurance companies are ready to offer their clients such a service. Read about the conditions under which short-term contracts are concluded in the publication about.

How to buy a CASCO policy in installments

Realizing that many car owners are forced to refuse voluntary insurance due to its high cost, insurance companies today offer these policies in installments and on credit. Most often, when paying in installments, a single payment is divided into two parts: the first of them must be paid immediately, and the second - within 1-6 months. At the same time, the insurance amount remains unchanged.

Some insurers work with clients using other payment schemes. You will learn about the nuances of applying for insurance with a breakdown of contributions and fines for late payments in the article “”.

Insurance under CASCO, OSAGO and DOSAGO. What is the difference. Basics: Video

CASCO is not a compulsory type of insurance. But the presence of such a policy guarantees its owner complete protection from all the troubles that can happen to the car: theft, destruction, damage during an accident. Naturally, the cost of insurance is rather high, but you can save money if you understand the intricacies.

The most crucial moment is choosing an insurance company. Focusing only on positive reviews is not entirely correct. Most unpleasant situations arise due to the fact that the policyholder simply does not read the contract and agrees to insurance at the lowest price - as a result, the amount of payment after an insured event does not cover all the costs of car repairs.

How do you know if a company is reliable? It's worth looking at company ratings. Of all the indicators, two deserve special attention:

  • Amount of insurance premiums.
  • The amount of payments for insured events.

Good performance in collecting premiums directly depends on customer trust - accordingly, there is less chance of concluding a contract on bad terms. The amount of payments in large companies is never less than 50 - 60% of the amount of gross premiums. This means that the company not only collects money for insurance, but also in good faith compensates for losses in insured events.

What determines the price of insurance in Moscow: how to get CASCO insurance in the capital cheaper

The most expensive CASCO agreement is for residents of the capital. And if a company offers too low an insurance price for a car with Moscow registration, it means that it is not going to pay the client in the event of an accident or theft.

Why? Moscow is the most populous city. Accordingly, the traffic intensity and number of vehicles are the highest in the country. This means that in the capital the probability of getting into an accident is much higher than in any other region of the country.

Registration of a vehicle in another region can reduce the cost of insurance: then the car will be insured at lower rates, but in the event of theft or damage, the insurance company's lawyers may have questions, especially if the insured event occurs in the capital.

How to make CASCO cheaper in Moscow? There are several subtleties that can help save thousands of rubles.

Vehicle age and policy price

Insuring a new car will cost much less. For all risks, cars from 0 to 7 years are accepted for insurance, in some companies – up to 10 years. The lowest rates are for CASCO insurance for cars up to 3 years old. As the vehicle ages, rates increase.

The new car is in perfect technical condition, and the owner tries to minimize the risk of damage: the car is stored in a parking lot or garage, and maintenance is carried out regularly. Accidents with new cars happen much less frequently than with vehicles that are 3–7 years old.

Some companies conduct joint promotions with car dealerships: they offer favorable rates if the contract is concluded at the dealership, and give additional discounts for simultaneous CASCO and MTPL insurance.

Set of risks - is it possible to insure a car against all troubles?

If you really need to save money, you can choose individual risks, or insure your car only against the most serious cases. As a whole, insurance companies try to include all available risks in the contract:

  • Hijacking.
  • Complete destruction.
  • Damage in an accident.
  • Other events.

A full contract that guarantees protection will cost more. And if you exclude some risks, you can save up to half the cost of insurance. For a driver who is confident that the car will not be stolen, it is enough to buy a policy with insurance against damage.

Some companies also offer comprehensive insurance: the CASCO price includes the cost of accident insurance for the driver and passengers; they may also offer to protect property located inside the car, including a child car seat. Such additional services will significantly increase the cost of the policy.

Where to find cheap CASCO insurance in St. Petersburg

In St. Petersburg, the price of insurance is slightly lower than in the capital. Likewise, it is worth considering offers from companies at the top of the insurance company ratings. The cost of each contract is calculated individually and may differ significantly from the base tariff.

In addition to the objective components that directly affect the tariff, the car owner can independently reduce the cost of insurance by refusing some options. It is worth thinking about the territory of the contract: if the car does not travel outside the region, there is no point in paying for a policy with extended coverage.

Before concluding a contract, you can calculate the cost of insurance using a calculator, filtering out all unnecessary additional services, and compare the results. After this, you need to contact the companies and ask for a standard contract to study: compare the settlement mechanisms, the procedure for action in the event of an insured event, the time of payment.

5 ways to make CASCO cheaper

After studying standard products and choosing several companies, it is advisable to find out whether it is possible to take advantage of bonus programs, because you can save more than half the cost of CASCO.

Large companies offer anti-crisis CASCO options, which will cost much less.

50/50: programs with savings of up to half the cost

Under this type of contract, the cost of insurance is divided into two parts: one part is paid by the client immediately, the second – only after the occurrence of an insured event. If there is no accident or other damage to the car during the term of the contract, the policyholder will not pay the second payment.

The benefit is obvious: if the driver is confident in his skills, or the car is rarely used, such an agreement is worth concluding. With high mileage, especially in a large contract, it is worth paying attention to other programs.

Age and experience of the driver - you can save up to 20%

A driver with extensive driving experience will be able to cope with a difficult situation on the road better than a beginner. That is why insurance companies are ready to provide a discount to car owners if their age is more than 30 years and the length of service is more than 10. In this case, the CASCO policy can become 20% cheaper.

Another feature of the contract is the ability not to take out insurance for everyone who drives the car legally. If several people use the car, and everyone meets the age and length of service requirements for which a discount is possible, it is better to indicate a list of drivers. This will significantly reduce the cost of the policy.

Franchise: how not to make a mistake

The deductible is the amount that the insurance company will not reimburse if an insured event occurs. Basic values are set as a percentage of the insured amount. The most expensive contract is with a 0% franchise.

It is worth calculating the cost of insurance with different deductible values. If the cost with a zero deductible is very different from the cost with a deductible of 0.5 - 1%, then it’s worth saving. In this case, 0.5 or 1% of the cost of the car will be deducted from the amount of loss that the company will compensate after an accident.

There is no point in entering into an agreement with a franchise value that is too high - from 5%. In this case, after a minor accident, you may be left without payment at all.

Installment plan or one-time payment?

Most companies offer installment payments. You can create a payment schedule broken down into 2 to 12 payments. If such payment does not affect the cost of the policy, this is beneficial. But many insurers offer a discount of up to 5–10% for paying for CASCO insurance in a one-time payment.

2 in 1 – cheaper: CASCO and OSAGO in one company

When concluding two contracts at once, all companies guarantee a discount. There is a discount of up to 10% on CASCO insurance if the client has entered into compulsory motor liability insurance. In addition, insurance in one company will facilitate the procedure for settling losses if it is necessary to organize payment for both CASCO and MTPL.

The voluntary CASCO insurance policy has a very high cost, which is why car owners are especially careful when choosing an insurance company. The main problem when choosing a particular product of an insurance company is that CASCO programs from different companies differ greatly in the volume of services included in them, and choosing insurance only “by price” is not entirely correct.

In this article we will try to analyze how the cost of a CASCO policy is formed; what are the main and indirect factors that influence the cost of the policy; what legal ways exist to reduce costs; and also formulate conclusions about which insurance company you can buy a CASCO policy at the cheapest.

Why does the cost of CASCO differ significantly?

As already mentioned in the introduction, choosing a CASCO policy based solely on the cost of the policy is wrong. This is explained by at least three reasons:

Heterogeneity of insurance products

In order to somehow stand out from competitors, insurance companies create “unique offers” that differ not only in the cost of CASCO policies, but also in the range of services included in the policy. Thus, each insurance contract takes on an individual character, so when choosing an insurance company, it is important to compare not only the price of the policy, but also everything that is included in it.

Based solely on price and consciously buying the cheapest CASCO insurance, the policyholder must understand that if certain insured events occur, the insurance company will not cover the cost of restoring the car.

Risk Ratio Differences

All insurance companies calculate the risk ratio differently, which directly affects the cost of CASCO. For example, the price of a policy in the Moscow region may differ markedly from the cost of a policy in the capital itself. That is why in some cases it is cheaper to conclude a CASCO insurance contract in a neighboring city or region.

Narrow specialization of companies

Some insurance companies specialize in working with specific classes of cars, the owners of which they are ready to offer the most profitable and cheap programs. However, for other categories of cars, the CASCO price in such companies remains inflated, which is reflected in its average market tariff. Therefore, it becomes very difficult to trust all sorts of ratings and TOPs.

Based on the above reasons, policyholders should not waste time and effort searching for that “special” insurance company that will offer the most profitable and cheap CASCO insurance. It is more rational to choose an organization with impressive experience and a good reputation, and based on the services it offers, try to save money.

How to save on CASCO insurance while limiting risks?

By purchasing a CASCO policy, you can exclude from the contract some risks that, in the opinion of the car owner, do not threaten his property. So, for example, if a car spends most of its time in parking lots or parking lots, you can eliminate the “Risk of falling objects” (falling icicles, branches, trees, hail, etc.). Moreover, experienced drivers can even eliminate the “Risk of an accident.” Thus, in the event of an accident due to the fault of an opponent, compensation for losses is compensated by the MTPL policy on the part of the culprit.

Also, the cost of the policy can be reduced by refusing some services or agreeing to special terms of the contract. Such a policy is called “Partial CASCO” and, as a rule, it provides for conditions of the following nature:

  • You can apply for insurance compensation only once during the policy period;
  • compensation for damage is not provided without certificates indicating an insured incident;
  • insurance compensation does not provide compensation for damage to glass elements of the car or certain body parts that do not have accompanying documentation;
  • You can apply for insurance compensation without certificates for damage to glass elements only once during the validity of the policy.

The amount of savings on CASCO when choosing a “partial” policy averages from 20 to 35%. Such programs are in practice beneficial for both car owners and insurance companies. The main thing when choosing “Partial CASCO” is not to abuse the opportunity to reduce the cost of the policy.

Saving on CASCO due to franchise

The greatest savings on CASCO arise from the franchise, according to which the car owner voluntarily waives a share of insurance payments in the event of damage to a pre-agreed amount. The franchise amount can be expressed both in monetary terms and as a percentage of the market value of the car.

Thus, the higher the deductible amount, the cheaper the policy. However, it must be taken into account that there are two types of franchise: conditional and unconditional. The first implies deprivation of insurance compensation if the amount of losses after an accident is less than the amount of the deductible.

For example, damage after an accident amounted to 10,000 rubles, and the conditional deductible under the contract was 15,000 rubles. In this case, insurance payments under CASCO are not provided and the car owner must pay for the repairs himself. However, it is worth remembering that in the event of an accident, the injured party is insured against losses under the MTPL policy and will receive compensation from the person responsible for the incident.

The second, unconditional deductible, guarantees a mandatory deduction from the entire amount of insurance payments, regardless of the nature of the accident and the amount of losses.

For example, damage after an accident amounted to 30,000 rubles, and the unconditional franchise under the contract was 15,000 rubles. Accordingly, the amount of insurance payments under CASCO will be 15,000 rubles, taking into account the deduction of the deductible.

Ultimately, the deductible amount can be up to 70% of the amount of insurance payments under CASCO. However, it is advisable to subscribe to such conditions only if minor damage frequently occurs, which may negatively affect the history of insurance payments, and in the future, when applying for a new policy, cause its inflated cost.
